WASHINGTON -- Children from divorced families who either live with both parents at different times or spend certain amounts of time with each parent are better adjusted in most cases than children who live and interact with just one parent, according to new research on custody arrangements and children's adjustment.
Psychologist Robert Bauserman, Ph.D., of AIDS Administration/Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Baltimore, Maryland conducted a meta-analysis of 33 studies between 1982 to 1999 that examined 1,846 sole-custody and 814 joint-custody children. The studies compared child adjustment in joint physical or joint legal custody with sole-custody settings and 251 intact families. Joint custody was defined as either physical custody -- where a child spends equal or substantial amounts of time with both parents or shared legal custody -- where a child lives with primarily one parent but both parents are involved in all aspects of the child's life. This article will appear in the March issue of the Journal of Family Psychology, published by the American Psychological Association (APA).

Making Joint Custody Work
Divorcing fathers in the United States are seeing more and more the availability of joint custody with their former spouses. Recent publications by the American Psychological Association and others suggest that well developed joint custody arrangements are often best for helping children survive the impacts of divorce.
Like all good dads in a divorce situation, you want what's best for your children, so you decide to try the joint custody route. So maybe the kids are at your place three days a week and at your wife's three days a week and you get every other weekend. How do you successfully coordinate the scheduling, parenting and other challenges of share custody?
New Organization of Leading Women for Shared Parenting May Finally End Courts Favoring Mothers
A new group is emerging that may finally change the way Family Courts treat mothers and fathers. Currently, the default in most states is to award the lion's share of the time with the children to mothers, and require the father to pay child support. This is unfair to fathers, and has resulted in massive abuses within the system, leading to fathers committing suicide and being imprisoned. A new organization I am a part of, Leading Women for Shared Parenting, seeks to remedy this
Shared parenting
Shared parenting refers to a collaborative arrangement in child custody or divorce determinations in which both parents have the right and responsibility of being actively involved in the raising of the child(ren). The term is often used as a synonym for joint custody, but the exact definitions vary, with different jurisdictions defining it in different ways, and different sources using the term in different ways.[1] A regime of shared parenting is based on the idea that parental responsibilities should be shared by both the parents.[2]
It is typically a legal mechanism applied in cases of divorce, separation or when parents do not live together; in contrast, a Shared Earning/Shared Parenting Marriage is a marriage where the partners choose at the outset of the marriage (and prior to conceiving children) to share the work of childraising, earning money, house chores and recreation time in nearly equal fashion across all four domains

EQUAL PARENTAL RIGHTS FOR FATHERS
gender discrimination is on the rise in the U.S., from the White House to health care, employment, higher education, the media, judicial system to family courts and parenting rights. It's not enough for a man today to work and take care of his family and automatically get the same respect his grandfather or even his father once got, they want us to be men, but not act like a man and vice-versa. Men are being scape-goated in every aspect of what is wrong in this country. This new health insurance law that allows women to get free covered check-ups and preventive medicine and contraceptives coverage is a perfect example, why pass a law like this for one gender and not for the other??
Men have health problems too, like Prostate Cancer and other health issues only unique in men, and we also use contraceptives.............

EQUAL PARENTAL RIGHTS FOR FATHERS
Many of it is now directed at males, men ,boys, and fathers from the media to political and social opinions to
schools, criminal sentencing, recreation, leisure time, family courts.
The feminist still want you to believe that it's still the early 70's and that it has more ground to cover, when in fact, they have come full circle and then some, which in turn is belitteling and making our rights less important. they have nothing more to fight for except for pulling the wool over peoples eyes!

EQUAL PARENTAL RIGHTS FOR FATHERS
In defence of unwed fathers, you can't make anyone marry you. It takes two people.
Basically, America doesn't care about us! Our problems, parental choices, health, we don't even have the right to stop the legalized murder of our children (abortion). With the overkill of feminism in recent years and the lack of equal parental rights for fathers, 83% of all single families are now headed by women, male gender discrimination in family courts running unchecked by the government. You got to admit, there's some bias going on here! Fathers and especially unwed fathers
are being forced out of their children's lives by feminist backed organisation ( who help the mothers),
family courts, state cps services who tell unwed mothers that "they don't need the father in their child's life". Fathers are less likely to have help in court, most feel that they don't need a lawyer because they have done nothing wrong and they haven't, they just want to be apart of their child's life.
